Report: Florida will have a busy first recruiting weekend of March
Florida is set to host some important prospects in town this weekend
The Florida Gators started spring football on Thursday of this week, and will hit the practice field once again this weekend. Between Friday and Saturday, the Gators will welcome in another slate of prospects as they make their round of visits during the spring period. Though the Gators do not practice on Friday, they will still have many prospects in town for extended stays over the course of the weekend, and some will have a chance for Friday visitors to shadow players to see how a day in the life for a Florida Gator is. Swamp247 outlines some names to track on campus this weekend.
Florida will host 247Sports No. 1 ranked running back this weekend, with Quitman (MS) four-star running back Akylin Dear making his first trip to Gainesville since last year. He was extended an offer during that visit last year, and has been in regular contact with running backs coach Jabbar Juluke ever since. Dear arrived in town late Thursday, and will be getting the bulk of his visit done on Friday. He’s supposed to depart on Saturday, but it’s unclear if that will include seeing practice before hitting the road. Dear recently trimmed his top school down to 12, and the Florida Gators were in that cut. Dear doesn’t seem to be in any rush to make a decision, and is eyeing taking the process into the fall.
