Breaking: Josh Allen opens up standout WR ready to join Bills
During the NFL offseason, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills underwent a number of significant adjustments on the offensive side of the ball.
The trade that sent standout wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans was undoubtedly the greatest move. Regretfully, in NFL free agency, wide receiver Gabriel Davis was also lost by the Bills to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Buffalo now has serious doubts about several wide receiver positions as a result.
The Bills selected Keon Coleman in the 2024 NFL Draft, and they have acquired receivers like Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Curtis Samuel. Although such moves are good, they could substitute another one for a more gifted player who might end up being Allen’s top aim.
An AFC South Wide Receiver Trade is Linked To The Buffalo Bills
Recently, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport connected the Bills to a certain wide receiver that they might pursue in trade negotiations. Treylon Burks, a wide receiver with the Tennessee Titans, is that person.
As Burks is supposedly behind Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, and DeAndre Hopkins in the depth chart, he is only the No. 4 option for a Tennessee passing attack that was rated 29th in the NFL. 2023. To complement Coleman, the Bills require a second boundary receiver. A rebuilding Titans club can make the most of every draft pick it receives in anticipation of what might be a protracted season in Nashville. Burks also requires a change of scenery and a new start.
The upgrade at quarterback from Will Levis to Josh Allen wouldn’t hurt.”
Burks would be well worth the gamble for the Buffalo Bills. He may not have developed the way the Titans were hoping just yet, but he’s still very young and has shown flashes of big potential.
Throughout his first two NFL seasons, Burks has played in just 22 games. He has missed time due to injuries. In the 22 games he has played, he has caught 49 passes for 665 yards and a touchdown.
Granted, those numbers don’t make fans get excited about him. However, he has great athletic ability and stands in at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds. Playing with a quarterback like Josh Allen could be exactly what he needs to find his full potential.
With that being said, a trade for Burks would not break the bank for the Buffalo Bills. Due to his lack of production, the Titans won’t be able to ask for a monstrous return.
Expect to continue hearing rumors about the Bills as the 2024 season continues drawing closer. They may stand pat with what they have at wide receiver, but taking a flier on a talent like Burks would make sense.
