BREAKING: Former Steelers Pro Bowler hints at NFL return Pittsburgh

Don’t look now, but former star running back Le’Veon Bell is making waves after hinting at a possible return to the NFL.

Bell, 31, posted a series of Snapchat videos in which he discussed a potential comeback in 2024.

“I won’t start training until like March. March-ish. And I’m gonna be honest with myself. I gotta go out there and be like, “I’m gonna put my foot in the ground. Do I Feel it? Am I hurting? Can I go out there and really play again?’” Bell said. “And bro, I’m telling y’all right now when I go out there and train in March and if I hit April and I make the decision to come back to play in the NFL again, mark my words down. I will be better than I ever was. Ever. And I will only come back for that one team. Y’all know who it is. I don’t gotta say no team. Y’all know who it is.”

Bell, a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, spent five seasons with the Steelers after being drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, but he hasn’t officially retired, either.

The superstar running back made that point clear last summer during an interview on the “Steel Here Podcast,” and even stated he wants to be back in the black and gold.

“I never officially retired,” Bell said. “The day when I retire, it will be with Pittsburgh. … Before I do that, I may be like, ‘Hey, let me get a couple of carries in the preseason so I can show y’all something.’”

Pittsburgh named Arthur Smith as its new offensive coordinator after the firing of Matt Canada mid-season, which could possibly signal a more run-heavy style of offense. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren currently headline the Steelers’ running back rotation, but the prospect of Bell returning is an interesting one.

And if Bell has it his way, he could be right back in the mix come next season.

“When November of 2024 comes back and I’m snapping and back to snapping … don’t be shocked,” Bell said. “Do not be shocked. I’m telling you right now.”
