Breaking news: Bolton Wanderers plot move for PL giant club Superb talent winger

Bolton Wanderers has made good use of the loan market in previous seasons as they want to rebuild themselves for the Championship and beyond.

Chris Markham and Ian Evatt will be hoping to repeat the success of players like James Trafford, Conor Bradley, Paris Maghoma, and Dapo Afolayan, who have all benefited from their time in Lancashire in the future.

After losing to Oxford United in the play-off final over the weekend, many fans are still quite raw, but there is still time for them to get back up and try to make it to the second division and not fall out of the picture as quickly as they did in the 2023–24 season.

restoring the connection to nearby competitors Omari Forson would be making an ambitious move if he were to make the somewhat bold claim that Manchester United is one route to success and that would suit them well for their next promotion bid.

Bolton needs to take off the handbrake and shift shape

Playing a 4-3-3 formation, Wanderers were promoted automatically from League Two, and it is expected—or at least hoped—that Ian Evatt will be likely to go back to that formation because he has stated it is his preferred option.

After being promoted in the summer of 2021, Bolton pursued Xavier Amaechi, a young English talent on loan from Hamburg who had a similar profile to Omari Forson, but injuries cut short his tenure with the team.

As a result, Evatt and Bolton were left without the left-footed right-winger they so desperately required to play the 4-3-3. Omari Forson now meets that need and would allow for significantly greater tactical flexibility than has previously been possible.

The inability to significantly alter Wanderers’ lineup or attack strategy harmed them after 11 wins in 29 games across all competitions since New Year’s Day. Forson would bring a new perspective that the Whites had, once upon a time, prepared for.

Bolton has forged a bond with Manchester United.

Considering Wanderers’ recent interactions with United, the idea that Forson would relocate a little further north to the Toughsheet Community Stadium is also not wholly implausible.

They tried to sign Anthony Elanga in 2021, but the Swedish international was unable to break through into Ian Evatt’s United first squad at the right time. Dan Gore was also recently connected to them. Shola Shoretire, who signed on loan in January 2022 and performed well at first before fading soon, was one move that did pay off.

Forson has already made an appearance at Wanderers’ stadium, where he scored United’s lone goal in an 8-1 thumping at the hands of the eventual EFL Trophy quarterfinalists.

In addition, he started in the Premier League and made seven first-team appearances for Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils last season. He also came off the bench in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Wanderers have important decisions to make and options to consider. Reentering the Manchester United academy may be a huge asset if the goal is to return to a 4-3-3 formation, as many supporters long for.
