The midfield player has already committed to a summer transfer to Tynecastle.
Yan Dhanda’s summer move to Hearts, in Kris Boyd’s opinion, will push him to new heights.
After spending two seasons with the Staggies, the Ross County midfielder signed a pre-contract to move to Tynecastle for the upcoming campaign. The 25-year-old has emerged as Dingwall’s best player, and Boyd believes Steven Naismith will help him continue to develop as he plays at a higher level the following season.
Dhanda is in action this afternoon as County looks to avoid relegation after a challenging season by facing Raith Rovers in the relegation playoff. County wants to stay in the Premiership.
Boyd, the former Rangers striker, waxed poetic about the Englishman and told Sky Sports: “You could see on Thursday night they tried to get him on the ball as much as they can. And after scoring in the first-leg 2-1 win last week, I think Dhanda will be key to that.”
He picked it up when positioned between the Raith Rovers midfield and defense. At times, he may have been a little too careless with the ball and could have chosen a better pass or made a better judgment, but he still scored the penalty.
“It’s undeniable that Ross County looks to feed him whenever they’re on the pitch in the middle of the park. You can also tell that as soon as he’s on it, the strikers are looking to make a move because of his pass and vision—he’ll find them.”
“He’s going to advance. He’ll advance to the next level the moment he makes that move in the summer. With all due respect to Ross County, he has more levels in him if he plays with better players. He has excellent touch and is a very skilled football player. He takes chances even when he’s concerned he won’t get the ball back, which may sound ridiculous. As a striker, all you want is for him to pass it forward so you can move and know he’ll find you.”
