Championship star player linked with Sheffield United
Sheffield United and Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in signing Rangers winger Tom Lawrence.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail, the 30-year-old is also attracting interest from Turkish club Besiktas.
This is not the first winger the Blades have been linked with this window. Liam Millar, who was on loan at Preston North End last season, has been previously linked with a permanent move to Bramall Lane.
Over the last several years United have often opted to not sign any wingers, which at times has come back to hurt them as they’ve not had a plan B to go to during games.
There were times last season when Chris Wilder opted for a 4-3-3 shape and had to deploy Cameron Archer on the left in some of the earlier games in his second tenure.
Wilder, who has been criticised for having no backup plan in the past, has demonstrated in his second spell that he can play more than just his tried and tested 5-3-2 shape. Perhaps the Blades will begin the next campaign with a new system.
